About the
Association pour la Santé au travail des secteurs Tertiaire et Financier
The mission of occupational medicine
Promoting health and well-being
The Association pour la Santé au Travail des Sectors Tertiaire et Financier (Association for Occupational Health in the Tertiary and Financial Sectors) has been in existence since Luxembourg established a legal framework for monitoring the health, safety and well-being of employees in the workplace. Initially intended for companies in the financial sector, membership is now open to all companies in the tertiary sector.
The legal obligations of employers are defined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act of June 17, 1994. They include medical examinations on recruitment, medical examinations in the event of resumption of work after prolonged illness, ergonomic studies of workstations and the listing of jobs at risk.
Prevention, both primary and secondary, is also a legal obligation. ASTF offers training and information programs on health, safety and well-being at work.
Employees with work-related health problems (burn out, disability, mobbing, post-traumatic syndrome) are also taken care of and supported in their healing process.
Member companies receive advice on ergonomics in the working environment. ASTF offers individual workstation analyses for consultations on musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).
Legislation also provides for vision tests for screen workers. On request, an optician can carry out vision checks on company premises.
In addition to its legal obligations, ASTF has developed a range of complementary services dedicated to promoting the health, safety and well-being of employees in their companies.
The ASTF-Prévention service provides health check-ups and health coaching.
The team also organizes other activities aimed at promoting health, safety and well-being in the workplace, such as conferences, health days and cardiovascular risk prevention in the workplace.
Drawing on its experience, the ASTF offers information programs comprising several training courses in the form of themed workshops:
- Psychosocial risks such as burn-out and their prevention;
- Soft skills;
- Human resources consulting;
- Workstation ergonomics;
- Healthy living.
Training courses are available on an individual basis, so you can tailor-make your own program.
